My sister seems to think that I don’t write here enough anymore. She wants to know what Iain is doing these days. The answer to the question, easily explains why the posts here are limited…he runs.
Walking with his arms in the air for balance, has given way to walking as a primary mode of mobility. Crawling almost never plays into the picture anymore. He walks into the closet to grab the potato chips off the bottom shelf, into his bed room to pull things out of drawers, or off the bookshelf. He walks into the media room to bang on the TV, I am amazed it has not gotten more scratches. Chasing Iain is a full-time job.
It’s not all doom and gloom though. Iain is done with baby food now, eating only big people food. He does enjoy a game of throw the food on the floor, but I am hoping he grows out of that soon. He LOVES meat. Chicken, beef, pork, it does not matter. He does eat veggies, but prefers fruit generally. He has actually gotten to get a few kids meals when we go out to eat…he likes that. He is also done with bottles, drinking everything from sippy cups. He still needs his night time milk to settle down to sleep, but he drinks it lying on a pillow as often as in our arms.
Sleep is usually the whole night, although more teeth are coming in, so that can cause some sleepless nights. He has at least 6 teeth that have broken the skin, its hard to put a finger in to check now…to much risk of getting bitten.
Iain brushes his teeth twice each day now, he does not do a great job, but he knows what he is supposed to do. He has moved into the toddler room at day care, and we get 2-4 pieces of “art work” per day. Usually he has clued something to construction paper. I will try and scan or photograph a few of the best ones and post them.
Talking is getting more and more frequent, and more clear. He still only says hi, but I think that will start to change rapidly.
New pictures of Iain will be online soon as well. Check Flickr for the latest.
